The Kernels play the final game of the home stand tonight. Game time is 6:35 p.m. vs. Quad Cities. This is a big game for the team. A victory means a winning home stand and a series split against the River Bandits. Currently, the Kernels are three games behind Clinton for the final wild card spot.
RHP Justin La Tempa (2-5, 4.83) will pitch tonight for Cedar Rapids. RHP Zach Russell (5-8, 3.93) will go for the Bandits.
After tonight, we hit the road for the next seven. This is arguibly the most important road trip of the season to this point. Four games at Peoria, who is struggling with a 14-25 record in the second half. Then, three games at Clinton in a battle for the wild card spot.
