Few hits for Kernels in loss at Clinton
A day after blasting Clinton pitching for 18 runs and 20 hits, the Cedar Rapids Kernels offense couldn't get much started in a 3-1 loss to the Clinton LumberKings in a Midwest League game Monday night at Alliant Energy Field.
Clinton jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings. Cedar Rapids (27-24 second half) scored its lone run of the game in the sixth when Roberto Lopez singled home Alexi Amarista.
Manaurys Correa (6-9) allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings for the Kernels.
The teams close out the four-game series with a 7 p.m. game today.
