Here is a list of baseball players from Eastern Iowa and the University of Iowa who are playing in the major and affiliated minor leagues in the 2025 season. All of the statistics are through Friday.
Keaton Anthony (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — First baseman got a promotion to Triple-A Lehigh Valley (International League) a little over a week ago and just keeps hitting. Is 15-for-36 (.417) with five doubles for the IronPigs. Hit .330 in 49 games for Double-A Reading.
Jake Bockenstedt (Cedar Rapids Washington/Chicago White Sox) — Pitcher continues to take a turn in the starting rotation for high-A Winston-Salem (South Atlantic League). Has 3-5 record and 5.37 earned run average in 13 starts. Has not allowed a run in his last two starts, spanning 11 innings.
Brody Brecht (Iowa/Colorado Rockies) — Righty pitcher remains on the injured list with low-A Fresno (California League) and hasn’t pitched since May 4. Has 0-2 record and 3.26 ERA in six starts this season. Has given up 18 hits and 15 walks in 19 1/3 innings, with 34 strikeouts.
Duncan Davitt (Indianola/Iowa/Tampa Bay Rays) — Pitcher threw a career-high eight shutout innings in a recent start for Double-A Montgomery (Southern League). Has 4-3 record and 3.08 ERA in 13 starts this season. A good 1.05 WHIP in 73 innings.
Jack Dreyer (Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Lefty pitcher continues throwing well in his rookie MLB season. Is 2-2 with a 2.79 ERA in 29 outings for the Dodgers, four starts. Only 28 hits allowed in 38 2/3 innings, with 38 strikeouts.
Calvin Harris (Western Dubuque/Chicago White Sox) — Catcher holding his own since being moved up to Double-A Birmingham (Southern League). Hitting .250 in 15 games, with a home run and four RBIs. Eight walks as well.
Grant Judkins (Grinnell/Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Pitcher has gotten 13 starts in for high-A Lansing (Midwest League). Has 4.43 ERA and 3-3 record. Has allowed 68 hits in 67 innings.
Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — What kind of season has it been? Has an ERA of 3.74 in his last seven starts, with less hits allowed than innings pitched. And he’s 0-5 in those starts. 1-9 record overall and 4.08 ERA in 15 starts overall this season for a pitcher that gets very little run support from the Pirates.
Tate Kuehner (Marshalltown/Milwaukee Brewers) — Southpaw pitcher has made 13 starts for Double-A Biloxi (Southern League) and has a 5-4 record and 2.98 ERA. Only 50 hits allowed in 63 1/3 innings, with 37 walks and 67 Ks.
Austin Krob (Lisbon/San Diego Padres) — Southpaw is 0-1 with a 5.58 ERA in 17 pitching appearances for Triple-A El Paso (Pacific Coast League). Only 40 hits allowed in 40 1/3 innings. Working out of the bullpen after previously starting.
Ty Langenberg (Urbandale/Iowa/Minnesota Twins) — Righty pitcher has made two good starts in a row for the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Midwest League), giving up just five hits and a run over 12 innings. Season ERA shaved to 5.89 (with 1-3 record) in 13 starts.
Adam Mazur (Iowa/Miami Marlins) — Right-handed pitcher was called up this past week to make a start for Miami. Allowed five hits, four walks and four runs in 5 2/3 innings. Then was sent back to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Mason McCoy (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Infielder hitting .319 in 37 games for Triple-A El Paso (Pacific Coast League). Has 12 doubles, five homers and 32 RBIs.
Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher has played in 34 games for Double-A Frisco (Texas League). Hitting .205 with two home runs and 10 RBIs.
Marcus Morgan (Iowa City West/Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — On the 60-day disabled list for low-A Clearwater. Was 1-1 with a 10.13 ERA in eight appearances, four starts. Had walked 24 in 13 1/3 innings.
A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Arizona Diamondbacks) — Remains on the 60-day disabled list for Arizona with an elbow injury. Has four saves in eight relief appearances this season with a 3.38 ERA.
Sam Petersen (Iowa/Washington Nationals) — Injury has had outfielder play games at three minor league levels this season. Right now is with high-A Wilmington (South Atlantic League), where is .314 in 13 games with a homer and six RBIs.
Colin Rea (Cascade/Northern Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Continues to be steady pitching presence for Cubs. Has 4-2 record and 3.84 ERA in 15 games, 11 starts. Chicago leads the National League Central Division.
Connor Schultz (Cedar Falls/Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Pitcher has put together a string of five consecutive scoreless relief outings for high-A South Bend (Midwest League). Is 0-3 with a 4.96 ERA in 15 appearances, two starts. Also has a save.
Jared Simpson (Clinton/Iowa/Washington Nationals) — Is 0-1 with a 4.25 ERA in 20 relief appearances this season for high-A Wilmington (South Atlantic League). Has 35 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings and allowed just 17 hits.
Raider Tello (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Infielder has .262 batting average in 52 games for low-A Clearwater (Florida State League). Has five homers and 25 RBIs.
Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Colorado Rockies) — Is 2-2 with a 3.77 ERA in 15 relief outings for Triple-A Albuquerque (Pacific Coast League). Only 28 hits allowed in 31 innings.
Trenton Wallace (Davenport Assumption/Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Pitcher has made 13 appearances, eight starts, for Triple-A Buffalo (International League). Only one decision (a loss) and a 3.76 ERA. Peripherals are good: 30 hits in 38 1/3 innings with 47 strikeouts.
Peyton Williams (Johnston/Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Big first baseman has acquired the nickname “Iowa Meat Truck.” Hitting .220 for Double-A New Hampshire (Eastern League), with six homers and 24 RBIs.
Keaton Winn (Pekin/Iowa Western Community College/San Francisco Giants) — Right-handed pitcher on the injured list for Triple-A Sacramento (Pacific Coast League) after making three starts. Is 0-1 with a 5.91 ERA.
Jack Young (Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Doing work out of the bullpen for low-A Kannapolis (Carolina League). Has 1-0 record, three saves and 0.36 ERA. Only 12 hits given up in 25 innings, with 28 Ks.
