Eastern Iowans in MLB and minor league baseball

Here is a list of baseball players from Eastern Iowa and the University of Iowa who are playing in the major and affiliated minor leagues in the 2025 season. All of the statistics are through Friday.

Keaton Anthony (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — First baseman is on a nine-game hitting streak with Double-A Reading of the Eastern League. Hitting .273 in 21 games, with a home run and 12 RBIs overall.

Jake Bockenstedt (Cedar Rapids Washington/Chicago White Sox) — Right-handed pitcher has made five starts for high-Class A Winston-Salem. Has 1-2 record and 4.68 earned run average. Holding opponents to .220 batting average.

Brody Brecht (Iowa/Colorado Rockies) — Pitcher is 0-1 with a 3.45 ERA in five starts for low-A Frenso (California League). Has allowed 14 hits and 11 walks in 15 2/3 innings, with 28 strikeouts. In most recent start, at Visalia, threw four innings, gave up three hits and no runs, striking out nine.

Duncan Davitt (Indianola/Iowa/Tampa Bay Rays) — Five starts in for Double-A Montgomery (Southern League). Is 2-2 with a 3.60 ERA. Excellent WHIP of 1.00, has struck out 32 in 25 innings.

Jack Dreyer (Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Is 2-1 with a hold and 3.63 ERA in 13 appearances (one start) for the Dodgers. Has given up nine hits and 10 walks in 17 1/3 innings, with 21 strikeouts.

Calvin Harris (Western Dubuque/Chicago White Sox) — Catcher has eight hits in his last five games for low-A Kannapolis (Carolina League). Hitting .276 in 15 games this season, with a home run and 14 RBIs.

Grant Judkins (Grinnell/Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Right-handed pitcher is 0-1 with a 4.74 ERA in four starts for high-A Lansing of the Midwest League.

Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Is 1-3 with a 4.38 ERA in seven starts so far for the Pirates. In 39 innings, has allowed 41 hits and struck out 29.

Tate Kuehner (Marshalltown/Milwaukee Brewers) — Pitcher has had a decision in all five of his starts for Double-A Biloxi (Southern League), going 1-4 with a 3.57 ERA. Has given up just 15 hits in 22 2/3 innings, though he has walked 17.

Austin Krob (Lisbon/San Diego Padres) — Southpaw has made six starts for Triple-A El Paso (Pacific Coast League) and has an 0-1 record and 5.06 ERA. Given up just 20 hits in 23 innings with 23 strikeouts, though he has walked 19.

Ty Langenberg (Urbandale/Iowa/Minnesota Twins) — The Cedar Rapids Kernels (Midwest League) right-handed pitcher is 0-1 with a 4.53 ERA in four starts. Has struck out 15 in 13 2/3 innings.

Adam Mazur (Iowa/Miami Marlins) — Right-handed pitcher had a rough last outing for Triple-A Jacksonville (International League), giving up six earned runs in four innings. Other than that, has thrown well this season: 2-2 record and 3.10 ERA in six appearances, five starts.

Mason McCoy (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Veteran infielder is on the 10-day injured list for Triple-A El Paso (Pacific Coast League). Is hitting .328 in 20 games, with a homer and 16 RBIs.

Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher is in Double-A with Frisco (Texas League). Has played in eight games and is 6-for-26 (.231) with a homer and four RBIs.

Marcus Morgan (Iowa City West/Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Has pitched in five games, three starts, for low-A Clearwater. Is 1-0 with a 8.68 ERA. Has allowed 11 hits and 13 walks in 9 1/3 innings, with 10 strikeouts.

A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Arizona Diamondbacks) — Placed this week on the 60-day disabled list for Arizona with an elbow injury that is not expected to result in surgery. Already has had Tommy John ligament replacement surgery. Has four saves in eight relief appearances this season with a 3.38 ERA.

Sam Petersen (Iowa/Washington Nationals) — Outfielder is on the injured list at low-Class A Fredericksburg (Carolina League) to begin this season. Is 0-for-2 in a rehab game for the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Nationals.

Colin Rea (Cascade/Northern Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Terrific beginning to the season for the right-hander. Is 2-0 with a save and 1.46 ERA for Chicago. Only 21 hits allowed in 24 1/3 innings, with five walks and 21 strikeouts.

Connor Schultz (Cedar Falls/Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Pitched this week for high-A South Bend (Midwest League) against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at C.R. Is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in six games, one start, this season. Has struck out 16 in 14 innings.

Jared Simpson (Clinton/Iowa/Washington Nationals) — Has been nails out of the bullpen for high-A Wilmington (South Atlantic League). Hasn’t given up an earned run in eight outings, spanning 11 2/3 innings. Has given up just five hits and struck out 16.

Raider Tello (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Infielder has been in 18 games for low-Class A Clearwater (Florida State League). Hitting .288 with two homers and eight RBIs.

Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Colorado Rockies) — Right-handed pitcher is with Triple-A Albuquerque (Pacific Coast League). Has given up three hits and two runs in seven innings, with five strikeouts.

Trenton Wallace (Davenport Assumption/Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Left-handed pitcher has made six starts for Triple-A Buffalo (International League). An 0-1 record and 4.95 ERA. Has 28 strikeouts in 20 innings.

Peyton Williams (Johnston/Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — First baseman is with Double-A New Hampshire (Eastern League) and is hitting .188 in 25 games. Has two home runs and seven RBIs.

Keaton Winn (Pekin/Iowa Western Community College/San Francisco Giants) — Right-handed pitcher is on the 10-day injured list for Triple-A Sacramento (Pacific Coast League) after making three starts. Is 0-1 with a 5.91 ERA.

Jack Young (Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — A couple of saves and 0.87 ERA in nine relief appearances for low-A Kannapolis (Carolina League). Five hits allowed and 11 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings.
