Here is a list of baseball players from Eastern Iowa and the University of Iowa who are playing in the major and affiliated minor leagues in the 2025 season. All of the statistics are through Thursday.
Keaton Anthony (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — First baseman is with Double-A Reading of the Eastern League. Is 11-for-45 (.244 batting average) in 12 games with a home run and eight RBIs.
Jake Bockenstedt (Cedar Rapids Washington/Chicago White Sox) — Right-handed pitcher has made two good starts so far for high-Class A Winston-Salem. In 10 innings, he has given up five hits and a run, striking out nine.
Brody Brecht (Iowa/Colorado Rockies) — Right-handed pitcher has begun his pro career with low-A Fresno (California League). In three starts, has allowed eight hits and six walks in 8 2/3 innings, with 16 strikeouts. Has given up six runs.
Duncan Davitt (Iowa/Tampa Bay Rays) — Two really good starts thus far for Double-A Montgomery (Southern League). Allowed one run in 11 innings, five hits, a walk and 14 strikeouts.
Jack Dreyer (Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Big league career for the southpaw relief pitcher has gotten off to a banger of a start. Is 2-0 in eight games, has allowed just three hits, no runs and has struck out 16 in 12 innings.
Calvin Harris (Western Dubuque/Chicago White Sox) — Catcher is with low-A Kannapolis (Carolina League). Has played in six games, is 4-for-23 with a home run and six RBIs.
Grant Judkins (Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Right-handed pitcher is back with Lansing of the Midwest League. Two starts, eight innings, seven hits, five earned runs, seven walks and 10 strikeouts.
Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Is 1-2 with a 4.30 ERA in four starts so far for the Pirates. Has allowed 23 hits in 23 innings, with eight walks and 17 strikeouts.
Tate Kuehner (Marshalltown/Milwaukee Brewers) - Up to Double-A Biloxi to begin the 2025 season. Righty pithcher already has made three starts. Is 1-2 with a 3.29 earned run average over 13 2/3 innings.
Austin Krob (Lisbon/San Diego Padres) — Left-hander has an 0-1 record and 5.59 ERA in three starts for Triple-A El Paso. Has 10 strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings.
Ty Langenberg (Iowa/Minnesota Twins) — The Cedar Rapids Kernels (Midwest League) right-handed pitcher is 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA in two starts.
Adam Mazur (Iowa/Miami Marlins) — Right-handed pitcher is 1-1 with a 1.26 ERA in three appearances, two starts, for Triple-A Jacksonville. Has allowed just seven hits and two walks with 14 strikeouts.
Mason McCoy (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — The 30-year-old veteran infielder is with Triple-A El Paso of the Pacific Coast League. Is 18-for-57 (.316) with a home run and 12 RBIs.
Cole McDonald (New Hampton/Iowa/Houston Astros) — Right-handed reliever is on the full-season injured list at Double-A Corpus Christi.
Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher is in Double-A with Frisco (Texas League). Has played in four games, is 3-for-13 (.231) with a homer and two RBIs.
Marcus Morgan (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Pitcher is teammates with former Hawkeye teammate Raider Tello at low-A Clearwater. Has made two short starts for the Threshers, totaling 3 2/3 innings. Has allowed three hits, six walks and a hit batter, striking out four and allowing two earned runs.
A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Arizona Diamondbacks) — Has four saves in eight relief appearances for Arizona thus far. Has given up seven hits and a walk, with 10 strikeouts in seven innings. Has allowed three runs.
Sam Petersen (Iowa/Washington Nationals) — Outfielder is on the injured list at low-Class A Fredericksburg (Carolina League) to begin this season.
Colin Rea (Cascade/Northern Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Has thrown in five games, two starts, for Chicago. No record, a save and 1.32 ERA in 13 2/3 innings. Has given up 14 hits and a walk, with 12 strikeouts.
Connor Schultz (Cedar Falls/Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Righty pitcher is in the Midwest League to begin 2025. Has made two appearances, one start, for South Bend and given up five runs in 5 2/3 innings. Has allowed nine hits and no walks, with seven strikeouts.
Tommy Specht (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Outfielder was released late in spring training. The former sixth-round draft pick played in 132 career minor league games and hit .197.
Raider Tello (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Has played first, second and third base in the early going for low-Class A Clearwater (Florida State League). Is 8-for-30 (.267) with a homer and four RBIs.
Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Colorado Rockies) — Right-handed pitcher re-signed with Colorado Rockies as minor league free agent in offseason but is not on any active roster.
Trenton Wallace (Davenport Assumption/Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Left-handed pitcher has made three starts for Triple-A Buffalo (Eastern League). Eight runs allowed in 6 2/3 innings.
Peyton Williams (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — First baseman is 9-for-33 in nine games for Double-A New Hampshire, with two home runs (including a walk-off earlier this week) and five RBIs.
Keaton Winn (Pekin/Iowa Western Community College/San Francisco Giants) — Right-handed pitcher is on the 60-day injured list for the Giants with an elbow issue. Has made 12 starts for San Francisco and is 3-8 with a 7.16 ERA.
Jack Young (Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Right-handed pitcher is with low-A Kannapolis (Carolina League). Has thrown in five games and allowed on unearned run in 4 2/3 innings, with eight walks and six strikeouts. Has two saves.
