PEORIA, Ill. — The Cedar Rapids Kernels had their Midwest League baseball game postponed Monday at Peoria because of wet grounds.
The teams will play a double-header Tuesday beginning at 5:05 p.m.
Cedar Rapids went into Monday with a 28-21 record in the second half, six games behind first-place Clinton. However, the LumberKings already have qualified for the MWL playoffs, so the Kernels essentially are in first place for one of two second-half postseason berths.
They were two games ahead of Quad Cities going into Monday and three up on Burlington. Wisconsin was five games back, Kane County seven and Beloit nine.
Cedar Rapids has 21 regular-season games remaining.
