Jul. 19, 2013 3:02 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - Jacob Stack of Cedar Rapids has accepted an offer to play hockey this coming season for the Austin (Minn.) Bruins of the North American Hockey League.
Stack, 18, played the 2012-13 season with the Atlanta Fire 18AAA team in Georgia. The NAHL is considered one notch below the United States Hockey League, of which the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are a member.
Stack played for the RoughRiders' high-school team before traveling to Atlanta.
"I am extremely proud of Jacob," Atlanta Fire head coach Michael Richardson said in a release. "He has worked extremely hard to accomplish this goal. The Bruins are getting a great goalie."
