Feb. 17, 2010 3:29 pm
The first game of the Winter Olympics for former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defenseman Sergei Kolosov and his Belarus team didn't go so well. Finland dominated the Belarussians in a 5-1 victory.
Finland got two goals from Niklas Hagman and a goal each from Olli Jokinen, Jarkko Ruutu and Valtteri Filppula. All are NHL players.
Belarus' lone goal was by Montreal Canadiens' forward Sergei Kostitsyn. Kolosov, by the way, had one of his team's seven shots on goal in the game.
Finland outshot Belarus by a staggering 44-7 margin.
