Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defenseman Jared Beers said Wednesday that he will miss the rest of the USHL regular season after having surgery to repair bones in a broken right thumb.
Beers said he incurred the injury by taking a shot to the hand in a game a couple of weeks ago. He has four goals and 11 assists in 46 games for the Riders, and is a plus-five.
