Bachman is 8th former RoughRider to play in NHL

Richard Bachman became the eighth former Cedar Rapids RoughRider to play in an NHL game Saturday night when he relieved starting goaltender Andrew Raycroft in the third period of the Dallas Stars' 5-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.
Bachman, 23, played in 26 games for the RoughRiders in the 2006-07 season after being acquired in a trade from the USHL's Chicago Steel. He was 14-10-2 with a 2.99 goals against average and .913 save percentage, posting four shutouts.
A fourth-round draft pick of the Stars in 2006, Bachman played two seasons at Colorado College before turning pro. He was promoted to the NHL last week from the American Hockey League's Texas Stars, where he had a 2.01 GAA and .931 save percentage.
Bachman played nine minutes and 35 seconds Saturday night, stopping all four shots on goal he faced. Other former RoughRiders who have played or are playing in the NHL are
