Angels' Kendrick to attend Kernels' Hot Stove Banquet

Jan. 11, 2010 4:03 pm
The Cedar Rapids Kernels are expected to formally announce today that Los Angeles Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick will appear at their 14th-annual Hot Stove Banquet, which is Thursday, Jan. 28 at the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel.
Kendrick played for the Kernels in 2004, winning the Midwest League batting title with a .367 average. He played only 75 games because of injury.
Kendrick will be one of four members of the 2010 Cedar Rapids Baseball Club's Hall of Fame class. The others are Angels General Manager and former farm director Tony Reagins, former major league infielder Denis Menke and longtime board of director's member Bob Klinger, who passed away in November.
Former major league second baseman Bobby Grich will be the featured speaker at the event. Tickets are $37.50 in advance and $45 at the door, which includes a meal. Ten-person tables are available for $350.
Contact the Kernels (363-3887) for information or banquet tickets.
