The Kernels had three players selected to the Midwest League All-Star team. Kaleb Cowart, Ty Kelley, and Stephen Tromblee will play for the western division squad on June 19 at Kane County.
Kaleb Cowart: Cowart leads the Kernels in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.295), home runs (8), runs batted in (45), and hits (65). He has played in 55 of the team's 58 games. Cowart's 45 RBIs lead the Midwest League, and they are also the most of any other player in the Angels minor league system.
Ty Kelley: Kelley, the Kernels closer, is 9 for 9 in save opportunities this season. He has also recorded a 3-0 record with a 1.24 earned run average. His ERA leads the team. He has made the most appearances (21) on the team. Kelley's 9 saves are the most in the Angels minor league system.
Stephen Tromblee: Tromblee is 3-0 with a 1.65 earned run average with 2 saves. Of pitchers who have been with the team the entire year, Tromblee has allowed the fewest hits (only 20 hits allowed in 27.1 innings)
