3 Kernels named to Midwest League All-Star Game

CEDAR RAPIDS - Relief pitchers Ty Kelley and Stephen Tromblee and third baseman Kaleb Cowart have been selected to play in the upcoming Midwest League All-Star Game, the league announced Monday afternoon.
The game is June 19 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Geneva, Ill., home of the Kane County Cougars.
Cowart is a reserve infielder for the Western Division team. He is hitting .300 in 54 games with 13 doubles, eight home runs and 44 RBIs.
Tromblee and Kelley have been terrific as late-inning guys for Cedar Rapids.
Tromblee is 3-0 with two saves and a 1.37 earned run average in 18 appearances. The left-hander is holding opposing hitters to a .193 batting average. A right-hander, Kelley is 3-0 with nine saves and a 1.24 ERA in 21 appearances.
Wisconsin and Beloit each had seven players selected for the Western Division team. Beloit's Miguel Sano was selected as starting third baseman, ahead of Cowart.
