2 straight wins for Cedar Rapids RoughRiders

MADISON, Wis. — The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders spotted the Madison Capitols an early goal Friday night but scored the final four of a 4-1 win. It's the Riders' second in a row after beginning the United States Hockey League season with 18 consecutive losses.
Drew DeRidder got the win in net for C.R. (2-16-2, 6 standings points), making 22 saves.
Bobby Hampton got a mid-first period goal to tie the game for Cedar Rapids. Austin Martinsen put the Riders ahead, 2-1, with a goal that came with 31 seconds remaining in the second.
Liam Walsh's first goal of the season came just 12 seconds into the third period to put C.R. up, 3-1. Justin Cole completely put the game on ice with his second goal since returning from the University of Denver, the goal coming at 5:12 for a 4-1 margin.
The teams play again Saturday night at Madison.
