The Kernels Foundation has set a goal of raising $35,000 for the Cedar Rapids School Foundation. This money will help the six Cedar Rapids schools hit hardest by the flood of 2008.
The Kernels are seeking grants from local businesses, as well as holding a 50/50 raffle at every home game. Half of the money raised during the raffle goes to a ticket winner while the other half goes to the Cedar Rapids School Foundation.
