Cadet Zachary J. Gilbert, son of Jeff and Carol Gilbert of Cedar Rapids, grandson of Veronica Benetti and the late Arthur Benetti of Belmond, IA and Judd and Ellie Gilbert of Cedar Rapids, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday, June 13. Gilbert graduated from George Washington High School in 2016. While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in computer sciences. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the
Infantry branch and will report to Ft. Hood, TX for his first assignment.
