First Congregational Church Welcomes New Minister

First Congregational United Church of Christ, 361 17th Street SE, is

delighted to welcome Rev. Melanie Van Weelden as our Senior Minister. Rev. Melanie grew up in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Kennedy High School. She received her Masters of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary and was ordained into ministry in July 2013. She has most

recently served as Senior Minister of two churches in smaller,

neighboring communities. We are excited to welcome Rev. Melanie, her husband and three daughters to our congregation. Rev. Melanie will join our staff on March 7. She will conduct her first service as our minister on Sunday, March 13. Service is held at 10 a.m. and all are welcome!
