Johnson County is in the process of examining housing needs in its growing non-metro area that consultants estimate will need about 950 housing units over the next 10 years to keep up with growth and demand.

Property owners across Johnson County have received letters detailing expected property tax rates as required by state law, but county and city officials are warning that the letters are not reflective of what taxpayers can expect to pay.

The Lone Tree Chamber of Commerce has been hard at work planning the city’s annual fall festival. The annual event will take place on Aug. 25 and 26 and feature various events, shopping, food trucks and more.

Johnson County’s smaller towns, like Lone Tree, Hills and Swisher, are working on community-led downtown revitalization efforts. The themes of building trust and authentic communities falls into the broader work of Better Together 2030, a visioning plan for Johnson County’s future.

Music festival started in 2004 on Jerry’s Farm north of Lone Tree.
