Water main breaks straining Cedar Rapids repair crews
The cold weather continues to take a toll on Cedar Rapids' water mains.
The public works department says a water main break has closed B Avenue Northeast between 27th Street and 29th Street.
Another break has closed 18th Street Southwest between Wilson Avenue and 33rd Avenue.
And crews are working to repair a third water main break on Wiley Boulevard between Westdale Mall and Menards.
Public Works officials say repairs are expected to take the rest of Thursday to complete. Drivers should find an alternate route.
