Public invited to meet six finalists for Cedar Rapids parks/rec director job

City Hall is inviting the public to an open house on Monday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. to meet the six finalists for the city's position of parks and recreation director.
The event will take place at City Hall, 101 First St. SE.
The six are vying to replace Julie Sina, who retired at the end of March.
Among the six finalists is Sven Leff, the city's recreation superintendent since April 2011.
The others are:
- Subhajeet (Seve) Ghose, director of parks and recreation, Davenport, Iowa.
- Royce Gibson, former recreation manager, Oquirrh Recreation and Parks District in Utah.
- Clarke Johnson, former executive director, Mills Creek Park District in Wisconsin.
- Todd Reese, former director of parks, Downers Grove Park District in Illinois.
- Stephen Warner, parks facilities manager, Greenville N.C.
Forty-seven people from 18 states applied for the job.
The finalists will be interviewed by city officials and city staff before Monday's open house.
