Pataki to headline Scott GOP dinner

Oct. 13, 2009 5:47 pm
Former New York Gov. George Pataki is the latest in a line of Republicans visiting Iowa, the lead-off state in the 2012 presidential nominee process.
Pataki, who briefly sought the 2008 GOP nomination, will be the featured speaker at the Scott County Republican Party's Nov. 10 Ronald Reagan Dinner.
Pataki, who was governor from 1995-2007, is highly regarded among Republicans for having cut taxes, reduced crime, promoted record job creation and leading New York in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorists attacks.
Pataki, now in private law practice, is recognized as a respected veteran national GOP leader who is working to build the party at the grassroots level.
Other invited dinner speakers include the Republican candidates for the GOP nomination for governor of Iowa in 2010.
The Ronald Reagan Dinner is an annual GOP fundraising dinner for the Scott County Republican Party. It will be at the new Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center. Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.ScottCountyRepublicans.org or by calling (563) 823-5854.
