IOWA CITY — The League of Women Voters of Johnson County will host various candidate forums ahead of the June 7 primary election.
The forums will be held in person Wednesday this week, as well as Monday and Thursday of next week. All forums will be streamed on the league’s Facebook page, as well as on City Channel 4.
In-person early voting begins May 18.
House Districts 89 and 90
Candidates for the Democratic primary for Iowa House Districts 89 and 90 will discuss their campaigns Wednesday.
The forum will be held at the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center, 28 S. Linn St.
The forum will kick off at 6 p.m. with the two Democrats running for District 89, Tony Currin and Elinor Levin. No Republican candidates are running.
The forum with candidates running in District 90 will begin at 7 p.m. District 90 candidates include Andrew Dunn, Adam Zabner and Christy Wolfe. There are no Republican candidates.
Board of Supervisors
Three Democrats are vying for two seats on the five-member Johnson County Board of Supervisors ahead of the June primary.
The forum to hear from the candidates will be at 6 p.m. May 9 at the Senior Center.
Supervisor Jon Green is seeking re-election. V Fixmer-Oraiz of Iowa City and Seth Zimmermann of Solon are also running.
