Iowa City will hold an open house April 29 to get public input on proposed modifications to the Burlington Street dam that may include a white-water rafting course.
The event will last from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert St. It will start with a brief presentation. Participants can then stop by “information stations” to learn more about the renovation concepts, according to a news release.
Ideas for the project include modifying the dam to boost safety, improved river access and a white-water rafting course.
