Corbett to run for CR mayor

Ron Corbett, former Republican speaker of the Iowa House and president of the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce will announce he's running for mayor of Cedar Rapids Monday. Corbett, 48, now an executive with CRST Van Expedited, will seek to succeed Mayor Kay Halloran, also a former legislator.
He'll make his announcement at 10 a.m. at the corner of B Avenue and 3rd Stredet NW, near the Central Fire Station and Swiss Valley Farms -- an area hard hit by June 2008 flooding.
