IOWA CITY – The Center for Worker Justice of Eastern Iowa will host a public forum Friday to discuss a proposal to establish a community identification card for area residents.
Advocates say such cards would help immigrants, older people, low-income residents and the homeless who may lack identification.
Iowa City's Human Rights Commission and its Ad Hoc Diversity Committee have come out in favor of a city-issued ID.
The Center for Worker Justice of Eastern Iowa will host a public forum on the issue from 6-7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at 904 S. Gilbert Ct., Iowa City.
