Cedar Rapids to open city facilities to the public beginning July 6

CEDAR RAPIDS — City of Cedar Rapids facilities that have been closed to the public since last spring to the curb COVID-19 transmission will open beginning July 6.
Facilities opening July 6 include:
- City Hall, 101 First St. SE
- City Services Center, 500 15th Ave. SW
- Cedar Rapids Water Administration, 1111 Shaver Rd. NE
- Central Fire Station, 713 First Ave. SE
Some facilities are currently open with restrictions:
- Cedar Rapids Police Station, 505 First St. SW
- Animal Care & Control, 7421 Washington View Pkwy. SW
- Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 Fifth Ave. SE
- Ladd Library, 3750 Williams Blvd. SW
- Ground Transportation Center, 450 First St. SE
- Municipal golf courses (Ellis, Gardner, Twin Pines)
- Ushers Ferry Lodge and Village, 5925 Seminole Valley Trail NE
- Old MacDonald’s Farm at Bever Park, 2700 Bever Ave. SE
- Bender Pool, 940 14th Ave. SE — Open for reservations
- Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11th St. NW — Open for reservations
City Council and committees will return to holding in-person meetings at City Hall beginning July 13. Meetings still will be viewable on the city’s Facebook page, with agendas and indexed videos posted on the city’s website, cedar-rapids.org, on the City Council page located within the Local Government tab.
City of Cedar Rapids Transit has been operational. COVID-19 protocols, including mask requirements, will remain in effect in compliance with federal law.
Cedar Rapids library locations have been open since February with some restrictions, which will be lessened or removed by July 6. The library and other open facilities currently will continue to require masks.
The city plans to share more information regarding mask requirements at the remaining facilities before the July 6 opening date.
City services to the public remained available online or via phone or email while facilities were physically closed, and these services remain available.
Residents also may report an issue or concern using the city’s new online reporting tool, My CR, available at CityofCR.com/MyCR.
