Cedar Rapids hosting Resident Appreciation Day Saturday at downtown Farmers Market
The event provides an opportunity for citizens to meet city staff and learn more about Cedar Rapids programs and services

CEDAR RAPIDS — The city of Cedar Rapids will host Resident Appreciation Day at the downtown Farmers Market on Saturday.
According to a news release, city tents and vehicles will be set up on Fourth Avenue SE and at Greene Square from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The event provides an opportunity for citizens to meet city staff and learn more about Cedar Rapids programs and services.
The event will feature information about the city’s “Welcome is Our Language” campaign with T-shirts available while supplies last.
The event also will feature games, prizes and giveaways. City vehicles, including a firetruck, police squad car, forestry vehicle, Rollin’ Recmobile and a street sweeper, will be available for children to explore.
Activities include child fingerprinting by Police Department volunteers, city mascots, the City Manager’s 1-Bag Challenge kits and more.
