A number of Cedar Rapids bridges will be closed for overnight testing over the next few days, according to Cedar Rapids officials.
Tbe nondestructive testing of bridges and approaches is being conducted by a contractor to support the design work of the Army Corps of Engineers for the future proposed east-side levee system in Cedar Rapids. It does not affect the structure of the bridges or approaches, officials said.
The Iowa Department of Transportation will conduct the testing from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the following dates:
- Eighth Avenue bridge on Feb. 9
- Second Avenue bridge on Feb. 9
- First Avenue bridge on Feb. 10
- E Avenue bridge on Feb. 11
