Branstad to file Tuesday

Former Gov. Terry Branstad plans to officially declare his candidacy by filing petition papers at 1 p.m. March 16 at the Iowa Secretary of State's Office at the State Capitol.
Branstad, a four-term governor in the 1980-90s, is in a three-way race for the GOP nomination. He'll face Bob Vander Plaats and Rep. Rod Roberts in the June 8 primary.
While at the Capitol Tuesday, Branstad plans to speak to the NICHE home school group in the Wallace building auditorium, 1112 E. Grand Ave.
Friday at 10:30 a.m., Branstad will be at the Frontier Family Restaurant, 112 N. Iowa Ave., Washington.
