Braley endorses Conlin in Senate race

Nov. 30, 2009 10:50 am
U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, endorsed Roxanne Conlin's bid for the U.S. Senate today in Davenport, according to the Quad Cities Times.
Braley and Conlin, who is one of three Democrats seeking her party's nomination to run against U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, met with more than a dozen people Monday at the Quad Cities United Food and Commercial Workers union hall to talk about health care and the economy.
Braley told reporters afterward he knew of no one who had worked harder at “putting people over profits.”
Conlin, a Des Moines attorney, is running against former state Sen. Tom Fiegen of Clarence and former state Rep. Bob Krause of Fairfield.
Braley and Conlin have known each other for years and also have had leadership positions at the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now known as the American Association for Justice.
Conlin headed the national organization at one time, while Braley used to lead its Iowa chapter.
