A public forum will be held April 15 to discuss the ongoing controversy over funding for a transit service that gives rides to the elderly and people with disabilities.
The Johnson County Task Force on Aging is sponsoring a one-hour forum on the government-run SEATS program.
The Johnson County Board of Supervisors say the county is subsidizing Iowa City's and Coralville's portion of the service and plans to reduce the amount the county contributes. The cities – including North Liberty, which contracts through Coralville – have objected to that.
The sides recently have come closer to reaching an agreement on funding.
The forum starts at 1 p.m. at the Coralville Public Library, 1401 Fifth St., and will include representatives from the county and the cities.
