Warriors host winner of Indianola and Ankeny in semifinals Saturday
For three straight years Malcolm Rice has played against Linn-Mar teammates in a boys’ tennis district final. The top-seeded Lion duo of Rice and Garrett Bauermeister outlasted teammates Jake Wallrichs and Jackson Kramer, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, in Wednesday’s final at Linn-Mar. In the singles final, Cedar Rapids Washington’s Luke Burkamper rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Dubuque Hempstead's Luke Holden.
Cedar Rapids Washington increased its advantage in Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ golf divisional play Tuesday. The Warriors shot 321 Tuesday at Irv Warren Memorial in Waterloo to double their lead over Western Dubuque.

The Dyersville Beckman boys basketball team has had more than its first share of injuries and illness this season. The illness belonged to head coach Michael Molony this time, though he toughed out the flu and led his Blazers past Alburnett in a Class 2A district semifinal, 59-33.
