Scenes from a wintry week
The Gazette
Jan. 26, 2019 10:04 am
A forecaster at the National Weather Service last week told The Gazette that Eastern Iowa was in for a 'very wintry week,' and that prediction proved painfully accurate. After a winter storm dropped 6 to 8 inches of snow across the Corridor on Tuesday and into Wednesday, high winds and extreme cold set in Thursday and Friday. And it's not over yet. The weather service is forecasting more snow today and Monday, followed by even colder weather Tuesday, with a high of only minus-4 degrees in Cedar Rapids. The high Wednesday? Minus-10, according to the weather service. So stay bundled up, and brace for another week of wintry weather.
