An Urbandale hospital says it is implementing procedures to ensure it doesn't repeat a mistake made last weekend, when more than 100 children were given the wrong dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Bundled-up tree-hunters with mittened kids in tow lined the road along the Ely evergreen market before it opened at 9 a.m. Friday. And at Solon’s Handley’s Holiday Hillside Inc., about 30 minutes south, dozens of parked vehicles squeezed the gravel road from both sides for as far as the eye could see.

About a dozen long-term care facilities across Eastern Iowa have hired apprentices to fill open CNA positions. The program, facilitated through Kirkwood Community College, hopes to entice long-term employees locally by providing funding for their coursework and exam costs.

Symptoms of sleep apnea are more than snoring and feeling tired. Women are more likely to report headaches, depression, anxiety, insomnia and sleep disruption. Children may experience bed-wetting, hyperactivity and learning issues.
