INDEPENDENCE - A mural highlighting agriculture, conservation and water quality in Iowa found a permanent home Wednesday at the Heartland Acres Agribition Center in Independence.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey was on hand for a 1:30 p.m. ceremony to welcome the 8-by-24-foot mural painted last year during the Iowa State Fair by artist Karen Doty, who also was on hand for Wednesday's dedication.
'We are excited this beautiful mural found a permanent home at Heartland Acres where visitors from across the state and around the world can enjoy it,” Northey said.
This project was made possible through the support of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Beef Industry Council, Iowa Egg Council, Iowa Pork Producers Association, Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Turkey Federation, Midwest Dairy Association and Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
