Indian Creek Nature Center offering Soak it Up Series

CEDAR RAPIDS - Indian Creek Nature Center has launched a series of classes designed for homeowners, design professionals, land developers and contractors who wish to learn more about becoming an advocate for the environment.
Classes in the 'Soak it Up Series” are offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through May 2.
Cost is $10 per class for nature center members and $12 for others.
Organizers said participants will learn about best management practices and financial support options and will tour examples around Linn County. Topics and presentations include green infrastructure design, native plant selection and urban and rural storm water runoff solutions.
Classes meet at the nature center, 5300 Otis Road SE, Cedar Rapids.

Tuesday - Neighborhood Flow-Backyard Best Management Practices; Rain Garden Review; Urban Design Introduction.
April 11 - Natives for Your Landscape; Plan for More in Your Own Space.
April 18 - Soil Quality Restoration-Compost Ninja; City Incentive Programs-How Can We Help?; Linn County Perspective.
April 25 - Designing for Success-Meet the Professionals; Urban Stormwater Best Managements Practices.
May 2 - Developer's Dream-Green Infrastructure Design; Urban Design Professionals.
