On Sunday, July 17, 2011, the Cedar Rapids Jaycees are hosting a French toast breakfast to benefit the H.D. Youth Center. The breakfast will take place at the Cedar Rapids Jaycees Center, 225 5th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids.
The H.D. Youth Center was created to get kids off the street, promote a positive attitude, academic progress, and a drug-free environment. A secondary purpose is to provide a free hot breakfast to the homeless and those in need.
The 2008 floods damaged the H.D. Youth Center and have made it difficult for them to carry out their very important work. Being flood victims themselves, the Cedar Rapids Jaycees understand the importance of community support and appreciate the incredible work done by the volunteers of the H.D. Youth Center.
The breakfast will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm. There is a recommended donation of $5 for attendees.
