A Four Oaks program that assists families with becoming self-sufficient has been honored with the Iowa Family Support Credential from the Iowa Department of Management. The Four Oaks Cornerstone FaDSS (Family Development Self-Sufficiency) is the first FaDSS program to receive this distinction. The Iowa Family Support Credential is awarded to family support and parent education programs that are validated through an external evaluation to be in substantial adherence to the Iowa Family Support Standards.
The Iowa Family Support Standards are based on the most up to date, evidence based practice in the family support field. Adherence to the standards indicates that the program is providing high quality services that will result in positive outcomes for young children and their families. The Four Oaks Cornerstone FaDSS Program was involved in a crosswalk of the Council on Accreditation and Iowa Family Support Standards and was found to have adhered to all 104 Iowa Family Support Standards. The Iowa Family Support Credential is valid for five years.
The Four Oaks Cornerstone FaDSS Program provides family support and parent education services to over 543 families a year in Linn, Johnson, Jones, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton and Washington counties.
