Be on the lookout this Friday morning, December 23, for members and staff of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids.
We will be out spreading a little holiday cheer, visiting a number of places throughout the Cedar Rapids community and performing Random Acts of Kindness, or as we like to call it, RAOK.
This is our way of saying “Thank You” to all of the businesses and families who have donated numerous gifts to the Boys & Girls Clubs of CR over the past year, and especially the past several weeks. Receiving these donations has helped make the holidays a little brighter for our Club members.
During the month of December, our Salvation Army unit held bake sales, raising money for RAOK Day so that our members could learn the value of giving back to the community. Our RAOKs may include taping a quarter or two to a vending machine, paying for someone's meal at a fast food drive through, giving a present to someone at the mall, etc.
Some places we will visit include the SW Walmart, SW Target, Mercy Medical Center, Lindale & Westdale Malls, Edgewood Rd McDonalds, Hy-Vees on Mount Vernon Rd & Johnson Ave and the Marion & CR Police Departments as well as many others.
Will you be RAOKed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of CR?
