Biscuit and gravy breakfast to benefit Horizons Meals On Wheels

This Sunday, August 21st, 2011, the Cedar Rapids Jaycees are hosting a biscuit and gravy breakfast to benefit the Horizons Meals On Wheels program. The breakfast will run from 8:30am-12:30pm at the Cedar Rapids Jaycees Center, 225 5th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids.
Providing 300,000 meals annually, Horizons Meals On Wheels helps older adults and persons with disabilities meet their daily nutritional needs. Delivering hot, fresh restaurant-quality food 7 days a week, Horizons Meals On Wheels offers ready-to-eat meals in addition to onsite-made frozen meals, breakfast bags and customizable nutritional plans covering every meal of the day.
The breakfast will feature biscuits and gravy, hash browns, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and milk. There is a recommended donation of $5.
Since recovering from the 2008 floods the Jaycees have been hosting monthly breakfasts to raise money for organizations like Horizons who do incredible work to improve the quality of life in Linn County.
