Nationally known political advisor Betsy Myers will discuss the qualities of successful leadership during her keynote address at an Iowa Women's Leadership Conference Luncheon on Thursday, November 17.
The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hy-Vee Conference Center in West Des Moines.
Tickets are $75 per person; $750 per table of 10.
All attendees will receive a copy of Myers' new book, Take the Lead.
“All my life I have been curious about what leadership is all about and how it works, and that curiosity has led me through careers in the worlds of business, academia, and political life,” said Myers. “I have been fortunate enough to have a front row seat in some of our nation's most prestigious governmental, academic, and business institutions, and I have witnessed both leadership success and leadership failure in places large and small, public and private. Take the Lead is my effort to address these questions.”
For more than two decades, Betsy Myers has held executive leadership positions in various aspects of the public sector and served as a senior advisor and COO to Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign in 2008. Prior to that appointment, Myers served as Executive Director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, where she worked alongside David Gergen.
In May of this year, Myers was appointed Founding Director of the Center for Women & Business at Bentley University. In that role, she will explore best practices to recruit and retain female leaders in corporate America.
