You snooze, you lose applies to casino

Regarding the Feb. 27 article, “Existing casinos cannibalize C.R., Corbett claims”: I had to laugh. But then again, if I had been the one to push for the city to buy and renovate a hotel and use tax dollars to do it, I guess I would whine, too.
Frankly, Corbett, I hope the gaming commission turns down the request for the proposed casino. Cedar Rapids got in the game way too late and now wants to make up for lost time or rather, revenue. “If you snooze, you lose!” It's as simple as that.
