Yield to the left at roundabouts

The only rule you need to follow when you are approaching, or within, or exiting a roundabout is to yield to the left. The definition of yield is ‘to give place or precedence” so you must wait. The definition of left is the nearest side where a person’s heart is normally located.
You must wait if someone is coming from your left side at a roundabout. If they are in front, to the right or behind you, you don’t need to wait.
The city traffic department needs to put a sign at every roundabout that reads “Yield to the left.” The folks reading the daily newspaper probably know this, but too many drivers don’t get the paper and aren’t aware of this rule. So please help educate all drivers.
