Working together would help country more

What is going on with Republicans? The Republican Party's actions become more outrageous every day. It has become a party of whiners, crybabies and kooks. It is appalling to see such meanness and hatefulness toward a U.S. president who, by all common sense, deserves our respect.
When President Barack Obama took office, I was so happy he was reaching out to Republicans - never thinking that rather than joining him to try to do what will help our country, they would simply join forces to reflexively oppose everything.
I don't want any party to have complete control, as in six of the previous eight years when we had Republican control, but is this the way to do it?
Republicans seem desperate - not to do what is right for the nation - but rather to do everything they can to get re-elected.
This country is facing big problems, and working together to try to make it better might help.
