Woods’ drive to be No. 1 led to his downfall
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 22, 2009 11:57 pm
The Tiger Woods story has been the No. 1 story in the nation and around the world. New allegations about his behavior are released almost daily.
His wife believed she was No. 1. His mistresses each believed she was No. 1. His sponsor believed Tiger Woods was its No. 1 spokesman. Children believed him to be their No. 1 hero. He's the No. 1 golfer in the world. Other golfers now believe they could be No. 1.
Being No. 1 is vastly impressive and important. Tiger Woods has lost his No. 1 position in most areas of his life. Being No. 1 obviously drove him to the bottom.
