Wind tax credits too costly for Americans

Regarding the Nov. 28 Gazette story 'United push for wind tax credits”:
The 'United” consisted of one Republican (Sen. Chuck Grassley) and two Democrats (Sen. Tom Harkin and Rep. Bruce Braley) - both lame ducks. While considering the effects of extending these tax credits, a few facts may have been helpful in determining its merits.
According to the Institute for Energy Research, the two-year extension of this bill will cost taxpayers $13.3 billion, enough to pay 124 million American's monthly electricity bills. The institute states that wind energy costs $109 per megawatt hour, twice as much as this year's average wholesale electricity cost of $54 per Mwh.
According to the Wall Street Journal, each job created by wind power cost taxpayers $300,000. Quoting Warren Buffett, 'Wind power makes no sense without tax credit.”
The only opposition to the extension of this bill mentioned in this article were Tea Party groups. I am not Tea Party member, but, knowing the above facts, count me also as one opposed to this massive government subsidy.
