Wind energy presents serious concerns

The Green New Deal on energy is a travesty. Industrial wind is ruining our world-class farm ground with compaction and tile damage that will not be mitigated for hundreds of years. Industrial wind is killing our eagles. Industrial wind is killing our threatened and endangered bats. Bats are important for our ecosystem and our agricultural economy.

Industrial wind casts negative impacts onto neighboring homes. Wind developers offer neighbor agreements to people living near turbines. It is a hold-harmless contract that lists the impacts of 'cast shadows or flicker onto the Owner's Property; impact view or visual effects from the Owner's Property; and cause or emit noise, vibration, air turbulence, wake, and electromagnetic and frequency interference.”

Not having the negative impacts is not a choice offered.

Industrial wind energy is expensive. MidAmerican Energy alone has admitted it will receive $10 billion in tax credits for building wind turbines. Industrial wind requires miles of new transmission that we will pay for for generations.

The American Wind Energy Association boasts that industrial wind avoids 189 million metric tons of CO2 when man-made CO2 from energy, cement usage and land use changes reaches 35 to 40 billion metric tons every year. Turbines are avoiding less than 1% of global CO2.

Industrial wind is a boondoggle.
