Wife ‘took over’ school district’s job

We're a very busy family with four children. Spread out over three schools, we sometimes race to keep up with them!
But one thing has changed recently. My wife, Sue, along with other parents, tried to keep Polk Elementary School open. It's something we both feel strongly about as we think education is key to our kids' success. Polk is a shining example of when all of the right programs and people are together at the right time.
Now that the school board has refused to see keep a successful school open, I was wondering if they could perhaps do me one little favor - follow through on what they said they would do? I would like my wife back.
Since the vote, she's been busy answering parents' questions because they cannot reach anyone at the district. No one returns emails, phone calls or even seems to try to schedule opportunities for working parents to meet with schools, teachers or administrators! It was our choice to stand up for our son's school, but she shouldn't have to do your job! She has helped provide information about different schools, what parents should look for and has even called them to find out how they are doing.
Why should she do your work? Isn't it enough that we have to go through this whole mess? Are you going to pay her?
