Why local golf may be on the decline

For the past several years I have purchased a 'Cancer Book,” now a 'PGA Book,” as a donation.
As an example: When I drive to Independence to play Three Elms, a nice 18-hole course, it costs me $17 for as much golf as I want to play and includes a cart.
I play in a church league on Monday afternoons at Gardner in Marion, a nice 18-hole course. There it costs $18 for only nine holes and I have to walk. The arithmetic is pretty simple.
