Why it is time for a change
The Gazette Opinion Staff

We have endured a poor economy without jobs, destruction of our savings, taxation and government regulation not to support us but to oppress us. We have endured mean-spirited partisanship and finger pointing instead of leadership. I am speaking of President Obama's vision of transforming America. The question you should ask is, “What will you do when he comes for you?”
Some say that's harsh but they cannot deny that Obama is on a mission to require Catholics and Catholic institutions to violate their personal and religious beliefs.
“The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama on Friday announced that non-profit employers - including the Catholic Church - will have one year to comply with new regulations that order almost every employer and insurer in the country to provide sterilization and contraceptives, including some abortion-inducing drugs, in their health plans.” Vatican Radio, Jan. 21, 2012.
Obama does not respect your personal beliefs or your religious beliefs. He does not respect your freedom or your liberty unless it is perfectly aligned with him. This kind of dictatorial attitude is expected of Hugo Chavez but not from the president of the United States.
The Obama DOJ is suing multiple states and failing to defend the freedom and liberties of others. Is this the transformation we seek, a government that functions by fiat instead of collaboration and negotiation for the benefit of all?
As a soon to retire senior, I believe we can do much better.
